Hoffman Middle School’s Student Council saw a need in the community and took action! Six brown, orange, red, and yellow decorated boxes filled to the brim with food items were proudly filled by Hoffman Middle School Student Council members this week to be distributed to the community.
Hoffman students and staff collected over 400 items over the past two weeks to gift to families in need for the Thanksgiving Holiday. These donations include 6 turkeys, 15 boxes of mashed potatoes, and all the fixings for a Thankful Feast. Denim E., 8th grade student council member shares “we are collecting food for people in the community who are in need. It makes me happy to help because people in our community deserve the best and I want to help give back.”
Students in Student Council stayed after school this week to get everything organized. Khandi A., 7th grade student council member shares, “It makes me happy to help out others and give back to the community,” while gluing the letters “Happy Thanksgiving” to her group’s hand decorated box.
Principal Jeana Morrison Adams couldn’t be more proud of Hoffman’s Student Council. ”We are showing a bit of care, support, and love during the Thanksgiving holiday, and we want our scholars and families to know that Hornet Nation is a community and family.”
Hoffman Middle School wishes all families a Happy Thanksgiving and looks forward to welcoming all students back to school on Monday, November 29th for bell to bell instruction.
